Homemade apple bread is cozy, comforting, and infused with warming fall spices. Melt-in-your-mouth quick bread entices the taste buds. And the crunchy streusel topping perfectly complements the beautifully soft and moist interior.
My auntie had an apple tree when I was a kid, and we loved visiting and picking them fresh off the tree. It was so fun. She was the best baker I knew, so of course, we made all sorts of delectable apple desserts.
I have to say that her bread was one of my favorites because we could enjoy it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. FYI, any combination of Granny Smith, Jonathan, Honeycrisp, Braeburn, and Pink Lady works great.

An Easy Shortcut for Dessert
Apple bread has all the flavors of apple pie, but is a whole lot easier. Don’t get me wrong, I love making my own pie crust. But when I’m in a hurry, dump and bake is the way to go. The streusel topping is just as easy, but if you’re in a huge hurry, feel free to leave it out.

How to Make Apple Bread

- Mix the dry ingredients, mix the wet, then combine them.

- Add the milk and the apples, and stir well. Then make the streusel topping.

- Layer the batter and streusel in a loaf pan and bake.
Recipe Notes
- Go nuts with walnuts, almonds, and pecans. And add raisins, dried cranberries, or diced dates for an extra fruity kick.
- Line a cupcake pan with muffin papers, then pour in the batter until the wells are ⅔-¾ full, and bake them for 12 minutes at 350℉ (180℃) for a kid-friendly snack.

Make-Ahead and Storing Instructions
Apple bread is even better the next day. Let it cool completely so it doesn’t get soggy, then wrap it tightly with plastic wrap or foil. It will last 2-3 days at room temperature, a week in the fridge, or 4-5 months in the freezer.
What to Serve with Old-Fashioned Apple Bread
This ideal dessert, breakfast, and snack is absolutely divine with a steaming cup of coffee, ginger tea, or chai tea latte. Top it with whipped cream, drizzle it with a caramel sauce, or slather it with strawberry butter for extra decadence. It’s also really good toasted and slathered with butter.
