If you think Pasir Ris is only for army recruits or for having chalets and barbeques, you likely haven’t explored Downtown East.
To make your Tuesdays more exciting after the dreadful post Monday blues, Downtown East has launched a series of promotions at various outlets with their Tuesyays for NTUC Members. This takes place till 29 July 2025. The best part? The promos last the whole day!
Whether you’re thinking of dining at any of their 67 F&B outlets, heading for a splashing good time at Wild Wild Wet or catching the latest blockbuster at Cathay Cineplexes, this entertainment hub has it all under one roof.
Psst, there’s even rock climbing and Gallop Stable @ Downtown East, where you can engage in horse riding— how rad is that?
And with that, here are 15 food and lifestyle spots at Downtown East to check out every Tuesday.
FOOD
1. Tomi Sushi (E!Avenue, #02-305)
Tue specials: 30% off Maguro Zanmai (O.P. S$65)
Are you missing authentic cuisine from the Land of the Rising Sun? Tomi Sushi has recently established its newest outlet in Downtown East— the perfect spot to get your cravings fixed!
Originating from Niigata, Japan, with only 4 exclusive outlets in Singapore, Tomi Sushi serves the best Japanese food in season. Be pampered with the best brand of rice of Japan— Niigata KOSHIHIKARI Rice, used in all of their sushi and rice sets.
If you’re there during lunch, choose from over 13 varieties of lunch sets. We tried the Tempura Lunch (S$24) that has a mix of 3 battered prawns, an eggplant, pumpkin and sweet potato. The set came with pickles, an appetiser of mixed soybeans and seaweed, mixed salad, miso soup and fruits.
The Maguro Zanmai is an absolute must-order for tuna lovers! It has 6 pieces of tuna tekka roll, 6 pieces of mixed nigiri sushi consisting of otoro, chutoro and akami (2 each), and a dollop of pickled ginger— a tasty adventure for any sushi fan.
The hand-rolled sushi here adheres to the age-old tradition of including a small amount of wasabi inside each piece. Help yourself to the 2 kinds of soy sauce on the table, one for pairing specially with sushi and the other for sashimi.

Don’t be fooled by the simplicity of the Smoked Chilli Aglio Olio (S$15); it was simple yet delicious. The strands of spaghetti had a garlicky-infused flavour, with subtly sweet and smoky notes coming from the fried garlic chips and sun-dried tomatoes.

We tried the Prawn Aglio Olio (S$9) which was a classic dish of spaghetti sauteed with garlic, chilli and parsley. Alternatively, you can have your pasta with Cream Sauce, Pomodoro (tomato sauce) and Basil Pesto (+S$4), too.
For dessert, indulge in their lineup of tarts like Mixed Berries Fruit Tart (S$5.40), Lychee Tart (S$4.60) and Strawberry Fruit Tart (S$5.20).
