If you want to cool down and enjoy a creamy frozen pudding, these are easy steps on how to make that frozen delicious confection.

Pudding pops are not only easy to make they also can be transformed into many flavors and we are going to give you all those tips below to make your favorite flavor with our mix-in suggestions.

These frozen pudding pops are much more economical to make than any frozen brand names and you don’t need to buy anything expensive to get great results.

We have tried pistachio, chocolate and vanilla, plain pudding pops, or dressed to the nines.

Pudding Pops Two Ingredients and Garnish Ideas

  1. first, these are made with just milk and instant pudding any flavors
  2. chopped strawberries, peaches, blueberries, red raspberries, and bing cherries can all be added to the pudding
  3. add extracts to change vanilla to orange, lemon anisette, butterscotch, almond, or another extract to make your favorite flavored pudding pop
  4. add chopped nuts
  5. add chopped dried fruits
  6. add chopped candy bars
  7. layer with two different flavored puddings for a marble-swirled
  8. roll in sprinkles or add sprinkles to the pudding
  9. add your favorite cookie crumbs
  10.  add crushed graham crackers
  11. crush up mint candy canes

  • extracts to try to change the flavors: almond, banana, rum, anisette, maple, lemon, orange
  • make a boozy pudding pop for adults only by adding flavored liqueur in place of some of the milk

Tips

  • for a richer pudding pop add some heavy cream
  • change the flavor of vanilla or another flavor to whatever ice cream flavor you prefer
  • use small disposable paper cups if you don’t have a popsicle mold
  • do not put the stick all the way to the bottom 
  • make sure these are frozen before trying to remove them from the molds
  • It’s great for cake fillings for ice cream cakes
  • try swirling some ice cream toppings in the molds and layer them
  • chop the fruits very small for best results and blot dry if using
  • use sugar-free puddings for dietary needs

Making Homemade Pudding Pops Easily

These are all some suggestions of what we’ve experimented with over the years.

If you have a favorite flavor just change the vanilla, chocolate with extracts and mix-ins and create your own pudding pop flavor.

A delicious frozen treat made with instant pudding into a creamy ice cream-style pudding pop treat!

Ingredients

  • 2 small boxes of instant pudding of any brand or flavor
  • 3 1/2 cups of whole milk, half and half, or for a richer pop add 1/2 cup of heavy cream to substitute the milk
  • refer to the notes for mix-ins and flavor suggestions

Instructions

  1. Place the two boxes of dry instant pudding mix in a bowl with the milk.
  2. Beat this until it thickens.
  3. Spoon into disposable small cups or use any popsicle mold ( I find the 4-ounce cups to be much easier to remove after being frozen.
  4. Place a stick inside each cup and freeze until solid around 3 hours.
  5. Tip: if they are hard to remove from the cups, sit them in an inch of hot water for easy quick removal.
