New to the menu are the Katsu Chicken Tenders, available in three- and five-piece portions from $5.50 and $8.50, respectively. The tenders come coated in a crispy breading, with juicy meat within.

They had a slightly peppery flavour that we enjoyed, though the meat was a little dry. It would have benefited from an accompanying sauce or dip on the side.

For dessert, the new Kyoho Grape Soft Serve offers a fruity twist on McDonald’s classic soft serve, with the grape-flavoured dessert also available as an OREO McFlurry. Prices start from $1.50.

Another new sweet treat is the Strawberry Daifuku Pie, which combines chewy mochi, red bean paste, and strawberry jam inside a pink pie crust inspired by Japanese daifuku. This dessert is priced at $1.80.

The Strawberry Daifuku Pie was an interesting twist on the classic McDonald’s apple pie, with a chewy centre that added a fun contrast to the crispy crust. The strawberry filling leaned sweet, but it worked well with the mild mochi and made for a satisfying dessert.

The Samurai Burger lineup will be available from 20 August 2026 at all McDonald’s restaurants islandwide, as well as through Drive-Thru, McDelivery, GrabFood, and foodpanda, while stocks last.
