Happy New Year to all our readers! With a fresh year and month ahead of us, that also means plenty of events, festivities and pop-ups on the way. Here are some of the things we are looking forward to doing in the first month of 2026.
1. Step into Spring Blossoms at Flower Dome
Many of you are probably still unwrapping your Christmas gifts or recovering from New Year’s celebrations. But as you would start noticing everywhere, Chinese New Year festivities are already beginning. And to celebrate the spring season and the Year of the Horse, Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay invites visitors to its very own Spring Blossoms.
This showcase featuring iconic flower blooms, lantern horses and classical Chinese architecture is a display of culture that is perfect for the season. If you can’t wait to soak yourself in the Chinese New Year atmosphere, you can check out Spring Blossoms, which will open from 16 Jan to 1 Mar.Â

3. Return to the Don’t Runaway Grocer Pop-up

When I visited the Don’t Runaway Grocer Pop-up earlier in December, I was wowed by the retro-inspired interiors, interesting local-made goods and delicious sandwiches. This pop-up was initially only supposed to last till 21 Dec, but Don’t Runaway has just recently announced that it will be having an extension!
Returning from 10 Jan to 1 Feb, this grocery store is a place with special weekly menu items, unique products and friendly staff. It has not been announced yet if there are any new collaborations for the January pop-up, but based on Don’t Runaway’s track record, it’s safe to assume so. Stay tuned on their Instagram page for more details and updates.

Talking about sandwiches and burgers — have you tried the newly opened Chick-fil-A in Singapore? If not, January might be a good time to do so after giving the hype about a month to settle.Â
The famous American fast food chain opened its first Singaporean outlet at Bugis+ on 11 Dec, bringing its signature Chicken Sandwiches and exceptional customer service to our shores. Other classic menu items like their Waffle Potato Fries, Lemonades and a range of sauces are also available.Â
Some of us at Sethlui.com had a chance to try Chick-fil-A early, so if you’d like to know our thoughts about the menu, read Dylan’s article here.
