Prawn Toast (Step by Step Pictures)

1)Take onions, ginger, garlic, coriander leaves and green chillies in a blender or food processor.

2)Coarsely crush them without adding any water.

3)Add in prawns.

4)Add salt, black pepper powder, red chilli powder or paprika.

5)Add in egg white.

6)Add in soy sauce.

7)Blend them to a paste like texture.

8)Remove this to a bowl.

9)take your bread slices, sesame seed and prawn paste.

10)Take bread slices. I am using white bread.

11)Remove crust from the bread.

12)Place them on work surface.

13)Spread prawn paste on the bread in a single layer.

14)Now take toasted sesame seeds and spread in a single layer.

15)Dip the bread prawn side down on the sesame seeds.

16)Coat it well like this.

17)I used black sesame seeds on one bread slice.

18)Now drop sesame seed side down onto hot oil. Fry on medium high heat for 2 minutes.

19)Flip over and cook for few more seconds until bread is golden brown.

20)Flip over and cook until golden.

21)Strain the prawn toast.

22)Cut into small pieces.

23)Serve with sweet chilli sauce.

Instructions

  • Take onions, ginger, garlic, coriander leaves, green chillies in a blender and coarsely crush them. Now add in prawns, red chilli powder, salt, black pepper powder, soy sauce, egg white in the blender and blend them until paste like.

  • Take bread slices, remove crush off the bread. Spread the prawn toast on the bread slices evenly.

  • Sprinkle sesame seeds on a plate in a single layer. take the bread slices and dip them in sesame seeds so the seeds coat the prawn toast in a single layer. Repeat with remaining bread slices.

  • Heat oil for deep frying. Once oil is hot, drop prawn toast in hot oil, placing sesame coated side in hot oil and fry for 2 minutes until sesame seeds gets golden brown in colour. Now flip over and cook until the bread is golden brown. Strain and set aside onto some paper towel.

  • Cut into triangles and serve with sweet chilli sauce.
