Must-Try Muffin Recipes
An excellent muffin must have a few key qualities: soft and fluffy texture; tall, round muffin top; and moist, tender interior. After that, you can really customize to your liking; fold in your favorite add-ins, get fancy with the toppings, etc. Below you’ll find the muffin recipes inspired by my own customizing and experimenting–I’m so happy to have them all in one place for you now!
If you’ve been around for a bit, you may remember I shared a basic muffin recipe a few years back. Since then, it has been the base and starting point for so many of my muffin recipes, all of which are in this list. I still love that recipe and highly recommend it if you are looking for a flavor I haven’t included here.

While I love all muffins equally, my bakery-style chocolate chip muffins have a special place in my heart. They are my #1 pick in this list. Fluffy, tall, moist, and oh-so tender, they are hands-down the BEST muffins I have ever tasted. Add some sparkly sugar on top, and you have muffins worthy of a bakery display window!
Looking for something a bit different? I have that too! Let’s dig into this list.

Frequently Asked Questions
They sure do! All of my muffin recipes can be frozen. Wrap each muffin individually in plastic wrap (and if you feel like it, a layer of foil doesn’t hurt either) before storing in an airtight, freezer-safe container. They will stay fresh for a few months when stored this way.
To thaw, either let sit at room temperature or microwave for 30 seconds or so.
This simple, but effective technique encourages the tallest muffin tops with moist and fluffy interiors.
Starting at a higher temperature helps our muffins rise nice and high, but we can’t bake our muffins at that temperature the whole time, or they’d dry out. So we back it down after a few minutes to cook them through to perfection.
First things first, bake them properly (and never use a mixer to make the batter!). An over-baked muffin will be dry and crumbly, which is the exact opposite of what we want. I like to use a toothpick to check to make sure my muffins are done–look for a few moist crumbs!
To further enhance your muffins, you can bake in my parchment paper liners (linked above!) for that bakery-style look, add some streusel or a sprinkle of coarse baker’s sugar over each muffin before baking, and top with a drizzle of vanilla glaze after they’ve cooled.

I hope you find a favorite or two among these muffin recipes. If you have a request for a future flavor you’d like to see, let me know in the comments below!
