If you are a moviegoer like me, this is for you! With the Soft Opening of the upgraded Shaw Theatres Lido, the cinema is offering 200 pairs of free movie tickets every day until tomorrow, 8 Oct. After that, from 9 – 12 Oct, free popcorn is up for grabs. Make sure not to miss it!
How to get free movie tickets & popcorn
To get your hands on a pair of free movie tickets, you simply need to head down to the Box Office of Shaw Theatres Lido, located at Level 5 of Shaw House on 8 Oct. Queues for redemption start at 9.30am.
Long queues formed during the first 2 days of this promo on 6 & 7 Oct, and tickets were fully redeemed in about an hour. So if you want to get your hands on those free movie tickets, it’s wise to be as early as possible.
Free movie tickets redeemed during this promotion have to be used on the same day, and are valid for most titles that are Now Showing at the cinema. This includes movies like the romantic ‘A Big Bold Beautiful Journey’ (starring Colin Farrell and Margot Robbie), the animated ‘Grand Prix of Europe’, and the action-packed ‘The Shadow’s Edge’ (starring Jackie Chan).
A maximum of 2 tickets can be redeemed per customer, and for regular 2D screenings only, so don’t expect 3D or IMAX tickets!
The promos don’t stop on 8 Oct, though. From 9 – 12 Oct, you can get your hands on the Free Popcorn Combo. With every pair of movie tickets purchased on the same day, moviegoers at Shaw Theatres Lido will be able to redeem 1 Regular Popcorn Combo Set. This set includes regular-sized popcorn and a cup of soft drink.
Once again, this is limited to the first 200 redemptions per day, so be fast! It’s definitely worth getting Shaw’s popcorn, which, in my humble opinion, is the best-tasting popcorn of all the cinemas in Singapore.
Shaw Theatres Lido upgrade
Over the last month, Shaw Theatres Lido has been closed for upgrading works. Last week, it announced its reopening, which will be rolled out in phases. Phase 1 of the Soft Opening started on 6 Oct, and more phases can be expected in the months to come.
The theatre promises new screens, new laser projectors and upgraded comfort for an elevated cinema experience. I’m certainly going to stay tuned for more announcements and drop by soon to check it out.
