The cream of chicken soup and chicken broth creates a rich, velvety sauce with just the right flavor from the ranch dressing mix. Whether you serve it over fluffy mashed potatoes, rice, or buttery biscuits, every bite is hearty, flavorful, and downright irresistible!

How to Make Ranch Chicken and Gravy

This recipe is effortless to make with only four pantry ingredients. Place boneless skinless chicken breasts in a slow cooker. In a small bowl, whisk together cream of chicken soup, ranch dressing mix, and chicken broth. Pour the soup mixture over the chicken breasts. Cover the crockpot and cook on LOW heat until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165ºF.

Remove the chicken from the crock pot and shred it with two forks. Place the chicken back in the slow cooker and stir. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Garnish with parsley.

  • I suggest using Unsalted Cream of Chicken or Mushroom Soup in this dish to control the sodium.

    • Start with one Tbsp of cornstarch and one tablespoon of water. 
  • Can I freeze Chicken and Gravy? Yes. Cool the chicken to room temperature and transfer to a freezer-safe container. Store in the freezer for up to four months.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

  • Place chicken in the slow cooker and season with salt and pepper, if desired.

  • Whisk together soup, Ranch dressing mix, and chicken broth. Pour over chicken.

  • Cover crock-pot and cook on LOW for 4-6 hours.

  • Before serving break the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces. Serve over hot steamed rice.

  • Do NOT add water to the soup. Just use the soup right out of the can.
  • Can use chicken thighs or tenderloins in place of chicken breasts.
  • Can use frozen chicken breasts.
    • You will need to cook on the higher end of the cooking time if using frozen chicken.
  • Can add frozen vegetables to the mixture.
