In this video, I’ll show you how to make a delicious and comforting Chineses Shrimp Ball Soup that is perfect for all seasons. The tender shrimp balls are light, flavorful, and simmered in shrimp stock I will make with shrimp shells. Half a pound of shrimp (51/60) only costs about 3 dollars. This simple, affordable and yet hearty soup will warm you up, perfect for both lunch and dinner. Enjoy!

Written recipe for Chinese Shrimp Ball Soup:

Ingredients:
1/2 lb shrimp, shelled and deveined (save the shells) and chopped into a paste
salt
white pepper powder
1 egg white
2 teaspoons corn or potato starch
2 green onions (separate white part from the green)
oil
3 and 1/2 cup cold water
handful spinach leaves
sesame oil

To make the shrimp mix:
Add salt, white pepper power and egg white, and mix well. Add starch and incorporate.

1. Heat up the pan to high heat, stir fry white part of green onions, and add shrimp shells. Stir fry together till the shells are pink,
2. Add water, and bring to boil.
3. When the water is boiling, turn the heat to low and simmer about 8 minutes.
4. Take out the shells. Add some salt to the stock.
5. Make shrimp balls by scooping the mix (with a teaspoon).
6. Let the shrimp balls set, and then stir gently. Cook about 3 minutes.
7. Add spinach, and cook about 10 seconds. Drizzle some sesame oil and garnish with green onions. Serve!
