I’m constantly searching for authentic restaurants to satisfy my Korean food cravings. I love classic bibimbap as well as spicy and cheesy tteokbokki, but nothing beats a decent Korean BBQ.

Fellow Korean food lovers, here’s a list of 20 Korean BBQ restaurants in Singapore that you should try at least once to satisfy that K-BBQ fix!

1. Guiga Korean BBQ Restaurant

Credit

Recently, Guiga Korean BBQ Restaurant located at 134 Tanjong Pagar Road underwent a transformative renovation, completely revitalising its interior to exude a more modern and inviting ambience.

The bulk of the barbeque section revolves around beef and pork items. Expect to find higher-quality cuts such as the 400g Wagyu Dengsim (S$70) and the 150g Prime Beef Rib (S$49).

The staff helps to barbecue your meats to perfection, which is fantastic for lazy folks out there. I definitely recommend the Thin Slice Beef Brisket (S$30), Marinated Pork Rib (S$24), and Soy Sauce Marinated Chicken (S$24). From experience, their dishes never lack flavour as the meats are always well-marinated.

If you’re a fan of innards, give the Pork Large Intestine (S$32) a try. For an interesting dining affair, try the Spicy Marinated Raw Crab (S$48) and Beef Tartare (S$40/S$58).

2. Wang Dae Bak Korean BBQ

Dinnertime is prime time at Wang Dae Bak Korean BBQ at Cross Street Exchange, so it would be good to make a reservation before you head over! Apart from the cosy interior and helpful staff, the barbecued meats also deserve a mention.

KBBQ - wang dae bak

The Marinated Pork Collar (S$23) and Marinated Boneless Prime Ribs (S$38) which had a minimum order of 2 sets were chewy and very juicy. The barbecued meats owed much of their flavour to the strong burning charcoal, which allowed us to cook them to the perfect doneness.

If you’re on a dinner date, choose from Couple Sets (for 2 pax) like the Beef Set (S$65), containing boneless prime rib, marinated prime ribs and thin sliced beef belly, and the Duroc Pork Set (S$52), which comes with different cuts of duroc pork.

In addition, they are the one and only K-BBQ in Singapore that does spare ribs that are dry-aged, marinated, grilled, fried, and then served with 3 types of cheese.

7. Super Star K

 korean bbq - superstar k

Ask any fan of Korean BBQ in Singapore about their favourite joint and you’re likely to hear Super Star K. This establishment rose from humble beginnings where they were just a small food court stall back in 2004.

This restaurant reminds me of those ajummaoperated joints located along the alleyways in downtown Seoul, especially those in Myeongdong; you’ll just eat and leave, smelling of charred meat bits.

korean bbq - super star k Meats here come in pretty decent quality cuts like Seasoned Beef Ribs (S$38) and Sliced Pork Belly (S$19.90), and they are also quite reasonably priced. There are also premium cuts such as the Kurobuta Black Pork Belly (S$28) and Pork Jowl (S$25).

If you aren’t a heavy eater, Super Star K is a better alternative compared to the all-you-can-eat buffets. Servers also help to grill the meats while the individual table vents reduce smoke from the grills.
