I visit 313 Somerset often, and here’s my regular itinerary: dinner at Bari Bari Steak, a sweet treat at Yo-Chi Frozen Yoghurt, and a drink to end the day at Molly Tea. Sometimes, though, those cravings strike when I’m all the way in the West. If you’re like me, I have good news: Molly Tea just opened its third outlet at Hillion Mall, marking its first outlet in the West.

ICYMI: Molly Tea is a Shenzhen-born milk tea chain with over 2,000 outlets around the world. It opened two outlets in Singapore earlier this year: one at Orchard Central and the other at Raffles Place.

The menu at Hillion Mall matches the other outlets, so fans can expect their global best-seller, Premium Jasmine Milk Tea ($5.20). The tea is brewed from Guangxi jasmine flowers through a seven-step process, then blended with milk for a light, delicate taste with a clean finish.

The Premium Jasmine Grape Milk Tea ($6.50) is a fruity variant that combines sweet grape flavours with the floral aroma of the jasmine milk tea, reminiscent of Qoo.

The Snowy Jasmine ($6.50) gets a lot of love online, and my dining companion agrees with the hype. It features the same jasmine milk tea, topped with a dollop of slightly sweet, airy jasmine whipped cream, and garnished with crushed pecans for some crunch.

My favourite, however, is the Pistachio Jasmine Coconut ($6.20): a blend of coconut water and jasmine tea topped with a creamy, umami pistachio cheese layer that’s not too sweet. Although coconut and pistachio are pretty strong flavours on their own, they complement each other well in this drink, with a subtle jasmine fragrance coming through.

Matcha lovers should order their Velvety White Champaca ($6.90), featuring a layer of earthy matcha cheese sitting on a base of delicate white champaca tea. Molly Tea has recently revised their matcha cheese recipe for a stronger, more umami taste that any matcha fan can appreciate.

Switch things up with the Tongmu Lapsang Milk Tea ($6.90), which uses black tea leaves from Fujian. The result is a naturally smoky drink with notes of caramel, honey, and malt.
