Looking for new restaurants in Singapore in July 2026? How does good-quality handmade pizza and pasta in town or a Japanese-Thai izakaya in Chinatown sound? That’s just a little sneak peek at my opening series where I share some of the brand spanking-new dining spots that launched in Singapore this month.
Take out your phones, block your dates, and start making plans for August as I present my mini curated list of the 5 new restaurants and cafes that opened in Singapore in Jul 2026.
1. Tavola Aperta
Dining in town might be a costly affair, but Tavola Aperta at Plaza Singapura aims to make it affordable by offering handmade pasta options that cost less than S$20. This new casual Italian joint is launched by the founder of CBD’s Salt & Soul. In the kitchen, a chef who worked at L.A.’s famed Felix Trattoria runs the show, bringing high-quality handcrafted pastas and sourdough pizzas to the table.

One of my favourites that had me salivating was the Potato & Leek Pizza (S$19.50++), crowned with roasted potatoes, sweet caramelised leeks, and fresh rosemary. The combination of toppings, paired with the luscious white cream sauce and chewy crust, made for an incredibly satisfying combination.
The appetisers like Tender Squid with Pearl Couscous (S$14.90++) and Zucchini (S$13.90) were memorable as well.

2. KIN-NOMI

Situated at 12 Smith Street in Chinatown, KIN-NOMI is a 3-level (more like 2.5 storeys) Japanese-Thai izakaya with a bold black and red ambience. This cool spot serves up Japanese specialities with bold Thai flavours. On the second storey, there’s a public karaoke space for customers to sing their hearts out, and a couple of private rooms with minimum expenditure required.

The menu has a wide variety of dishes for you to choose from, and there were several dishes that hit the sweet spot. One appetiser that stood out to me was the Tuna Larb with Crispy Rice Cracker (S$16 for 2 pieces). The cracker was thin and crisp, while the vibrant tuna had a punch of spice that took my taste buds by surprise. The Crispy Papaya Salad (S$10) was an interesting twist on the traditional som tum, with each papaya strand fried till crispy.
The KIN NOMI Signature Yakitori (S$3 each, min. 2 sticks)Â was delicious and each variety — Chilli Mayo, Mentai, Wasabi Mayo, Yuzu Pepper, and Sriracha Mayo — didn’t disappoint.

3. Black Tree

Black Tree is a popular milk tea brand from China that has just laid roots at 313@Somerset. It serves up an array of visually appealing drinks in varieties topped with cheese foam and Thai milk tea, just to name a couple.
The Lily Lamb Matcha No.1/No.2 (S$7.90) is concocted using premium matcha powder, signature matcha cheese foam, and fragrant sesame paste. Customers will have a choice between the No.1 (vanilla bean seeds and speciality milk) and No.2 (blended with King Jasmine).

If matcha isn’t your cup of tea, you might want to order the Milky Cat Cheese Milk Thai Tea (S$6.90)Â instead. It’s topped with a cloud-like, fluffy kitten-shaped cream topping, served with rich Thai tea with creamy cheese yoghurt, chewy coconut jelly, and water chestnut popping boba.
There’s also the 400 Times Cheese Milk Thai Tea (S$6.90), combining the bold sweetness of Thai milk tea with the rich, molten texture of 400-times-whipped coffee. The drink is balanced with cheese yoghurt for a smooth finish.

Mango fans who enjoy tropical flavours can get the Twinkle Twinkle Twin Popsicles (S$15), featuring an invigorating blend of mango and milk. Modelled like an actual coconut husk, the intricate Twinkle Twinkle Sweet Coconut Mousse (S$18)Â is a heavenly mix of rich coconut mousse, red bean, and boba, all encased in a chocolate coconut shell.

5. 886 Taiwan Ye Shi

The space is beautifully decorated with sky lanterns, a cashier counter modelled after Taiwan’s trains, and more — I’ll leave you to explore the rest!
Enjoy hearty dishes such as the Jiang Mu Ji La Mian (S$13.90++)Â featuring noodles steeped in a robust chicken and ginger broth, paired with tender chicken. The Signature XO Fried Rice (S$16.90++)Â is also recommended — mouth-watering and served with fresh prawns.
