How to Make Chicken Salad Crescent Ring

This dish is easy to make with only a few simple ingredients. Start by stirring together the chicken mixture in a large bowl. Combine chopped cooked chicken, diced celery, shredded cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, and onion powder. Season with salt and black pepper and stir everything together until well combined and creamy.

Next, unroll the crescent rolls and separate the dough into triangles. Arrange the triangles in a circle on a pizza pan with the wide ends overlapping in the center and the pointed ends facing outward, forming a ring.

Spoon the chicken salad filling onto the inner half of each crescent triangle. Lift the pointed ends of the dough over the chicken mixture and tuck them underneath the base layer of dough to form the ring.

Bake the crescent ring in a preheated oven until the crescents are golden brown and cooked through. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Helpful Tips & Frequently Asked Questions

  • Use rotisserie chicken. It makes this recipe quick and adds great flavor.
  • Chop everything small. Smaller pieces help the chicken mixture stay inside the crescent ring when baking.
  • Don’t overfill the crescents. Too much filling can make the ring harder to wrap.
  • Bake until golden brown. The crescent dough should be fully cooked and lightly crisp on the outside.
  • Add-ins: Red grapes, chopped pecans, green onions, or fresh dill can add extra flavor and texture.
  • Serving tip: Let the ring rest a few minutes after baking so it slices cleanly.
  • Make ahead tip: You can mix the chicken salad filling and store it in the fridge a day in advance.
  • Leftovers: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge and reheat gently in the oven.

This Chicken Salad Crescent Ring is one of our favorite recipes. It has all the flavors of a classic chicken salad sandwich, but wrapped in warm, flaky crescent rolls and baked until golden brown—so much better than a boring cold sandwich.
