1. Chinatown
When it comes to the Chinese New Year, there are not many places that can replicate the exciting atmosphere of Chinatown. Every year, this iconic location transforms into a centre of celebrations, markets and light-ups. And 2026 is no different.
To mark the Year of the Horse, a vibrant festive light-up will take place and fill the streets of Chinatown with festive ornaments and lights. This includes an 8.8-metre golden horse centrepiece which symbolises momentum, aspiration and progress. Other displays, featuring 60 horses and 48 fruits, will also appear in the surrounding areas, providing you with numerous opportunities for photos.
Beyond the beautiful lights and decorations, Chinatown is also the place to be if you want to be a part of the Chinese New Year Countdown Party from 16 to 17 Feb, at Kreta Ayer Square. Festive Fairs with curated selections of CNY goodies and decorations will also be open at locations around Chinatown from 18 Jan to 17 Feb. This includes places such as People’s Park Square and streets such as Sago Street and Pagoda Street.

2. River Hongbao 2026

The yearly River Hongbao is back! And this time, the annual festival is celebrating its 40th year running and will be held at Gardens by the Bay. From 15 to 24 Feb, lanterns, fireworks and multicultural displays and performances will fill the area, bringing festive buzz to the city garden.
There will also be amusement rides, activities and a Food Street that will keep you and your family entertained and filled. There will also be an exhibition showcasing River Hongbao’s 40-year legacy through immersive displays, interactive exhibits and iconic photographs.
Every night, performances featuring local singers and cultural groups will also take place. This allows visitors to bask in the festive atmosphere while appreciating diverse cultural showcases.

3. Gardens by the Bay — Spring Blossoms

River Hongbao isn’t the only Chinese New Year event happening at Gardens by the Bay. In fact, Spring Blossoms at Flower Dome has been up and running since 16 Jan and will be open to visitors until 1 Mar.
To celebrate the Year of the Horse, flower blooms, lantern horses and classical Chinese architecture have been brought into the space, creating a beautiful environment that looks straight out of a Chinese period drama. The feeling of springtime joy and expression of Chinese culture are really apparent and are perfect for this time of year.
If you want to soak yourself in the Chinese New Year atmosphere with lots of photos and take a nice stroll under cooler temperatures, this is for you. Entry tickets to the Flower Dome are required to enter Spring Blossoms and can be purchased here.

4. Jurong Lake Gardens

Enjoy the “Chinese Garden” vibes, but prefer going somewhere in the west of Singapore? Well, the actual Chinese Garden at Jurong Lake Gardens will be transformed into a vibrant world of colour and tradition this Lunar New Year.
From 7 Feb to 3 Mar, visitors are welcome to explore the gardens, which will become festive grounds, perfect for families to take a peaceful stroll together. For example, a Grand Arch Light Projection Show will occur daily from 7.30pm to 10pm with 30-minute intervals.
Charming Lantern Displays will also decorate the Twin Pagoda, Teahouse and Stoneboat areas, so make sure to drop by and take many photos too. A visual showcase by Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre will also be open from 5.30am to 10pm daily, presenting Chinese architectural landmarks in a City Pop art style.

5. VivoCity — TANGS’ Chinese New Year Fair

One of the biggest malls in Singapore is also buzzing with CNY celebrations. From 27 Jan to 15 Feb, a TANGS Chinese New Year Fair is happening at VivoCity. Shoppers can drop by to find delicious goodies, festive gifts and everything else in between from over 45 brands.
Beyond the bustling fair, shopping at the mall itself will also give you access to rewards. Those who spend a minimum of S$288 will get to redeem an exclusive set of Red Packets & Fortune Tray. Spending S$428 will grant you an additional Prosperity Keepsake Box.

6. Suntec City — Huat A Pot-sperity

From 15 Jan to 1 Mar, Suntec City will be turned into a hot pot-themed playground, where abundant rewards and festive perks will make you go “Huat ah!” For instance, shoppers who spend a minimum of S$68 in the mall can redeem red packets and S$3 carpark dollars. 7. CapitaLand Malls — Carousel of Prosperity

Across other parts of Singapore, dazzling horse carousels with vibrant Chinese New Year decorations and interactive photo zones will also appear in CapitaLand malls! From 22 Jan to 8 Feb, you can catch these installations at Funan’s L1 Atrium.
Afterwards, these bright displays will gallop over to Westgate’s L1 Courtyard from 9 to 22 Feb. Beyond just being an Instagram-worthy spot, the Carousel of Prosperity will bring with it hidden Fortune QR codes, which visitors can scan for STAR$ rewards using the CapitaStar app.
A Chinese New Year-themed photobooth machine will also be available, allowing you to snap some photos and get 2 instant printed strips for S$5. 8. Resorts World Sentosa — POP-sperity

This is for all of you POP MART fans! This Chinese New Year, your beloved POP MART characters are making an appearance at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS), inviting you to Gallop into POP-sperity.
Twinkle Twinkle, LABUBU from THE MONSTERS, SKULLPANDA and their POP MART friends will all be having a reunion at RWS, where you can spot them in larger-than-life installations. Take cute photos with these characters, which you can find in spots across WEAVE, Singapore Oceanarium and the area outside Universal Studios Singapore.
If you drop by during the evening, the POP MART characters will also light up with a festive glow. 9. Jurong Point — Chinese New Year Fair

Here’s another one for the westies. If you didn’t know, there is currently a Chinese New Year Fair taking place at Jurong Point until 15 Feb. For those of you living in the area, this is your one-stop shop for all things Chinese New Year, including goodies, decorations and collectables.
There are over 20 curated stalls to explore, featuring brands such as Mdm Ling Bakery and Hiap Joo Bakery. If you’re looking for CNY bakes or gifts, there are plenty of options for you here.
At the same time, Chinese New Year promotions are also happening in Jurong Point. For example, spending a minimum of S$88 (S$176 at supermarkets) will allow you to redeem a set of red packets. Fu Dai Fortune Bags will also be available to purchase from now to 16 Feb, for S$28 or S$38.

Did you know? Old Chang Kee is hosting a CNY Bazaar 2026 from now till 15 Feb! You might be wondering what an Old Chang Kee CNY Bazaar might look like, but it’s actually packed with good food and fun. There are also seating areas for you to dine in with family and friends if you’d like.
