13 places to see snow in Singapore this Christmas

Must Try

In a hot, tropical country like Singapore, the closest we get to Christmas weather is rain. But if you’re looking to experience a little bit of that Christmas snow, albeit with some artificial magic, you don’t have to look far.

In fact, you might even get snowfall near you, depending on where you live. Read on to see where you can experience a little simulated winter in Singapore this Christmas season.

2. Tanglin Mall’s Snow Splendours

We all know that Orchard Road is the de facto centre of Christmas celebrations in Singapore during this period. But while the Orchard Road area reminds me of malls like Ion Orchard, Wisma Atria and TANGS, I must admit that Tanglin Mall was not even on my radar.

This is why I was surprised to discover that this mall actually hosts some of the most exciting snowfall events in Singapore. Called ‘Snow Splendours’, the snowfall at Tanglin Mall has 2 variants — ‘Snow’ and ‘Avalanche’. As the name suggests, the latter is a more intense, foamy version that kids will absolutely love.

‘Snow Splendours’ is held every night at multiple time slots until 1 Jan. Refer below for more information.

Avalanche

  • Mon to Fri: 7.30pm
  • Sat & Sun: 7.30pm & 8.30pm

Snow

  • Mon to Fri: 7.45pm
  • Sat & Sun: 7.45pm & 8.45pm

3. Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza

By now, you should already know about The Great Christmas Villages at Orchard Road, so I will not elaborate further on that. But in case you missed it, Snowfall Shows happen daily at the Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza, right where the Mastercard Christmas Tree is.

There are 2 time slots when this happens — 8pm and 9pm, so if you’re in the area, drop by for a glimpse of a white Christmas in Singapore.

If you want to, you could even catch both Snowfall Spectacles on the same night by watching it at one location first and then taking a nice, slow walk to the other.
