Ingredients

  • 5 apples peeled and cubed
  • 1 tsp. coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup water

Apple pie spice blend

  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. cardamom
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. allspice
  • 1/4 tsp. ginger
  • Pinch salt
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. lemon juice

Cinnamon chips

  • 3 organic flour tortilla
  • Cinnamon
  • Sugar

Alternate option

  • Premade churro chips

Instructions

  • To medium cooking pot add water, coconut oil and apples.
  • Stir in spices, salt and sugar. Cook apples on medium to medium-high heat for 10 minutes. Water should be bubbling. Stir occasionally.
  • Remove from heat, stir in lemon juice and allow apples to cool.
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Sprinkle tortillas with thin layer of sugar and cinnamon. Bake 5 minutes until crispy.
  • Remove from oven and cut into pie slices with pizza cutter.
  • Place apple pie salsa in serving bowl and serve with cinnamon chips. Alternatively, serve apple pie salsa with premade churro chips.
