Paparch opens at Arab Street with famous burnt cheesecake
Next time you’re in the Bugis area, make a pitstop at Paparch Singapore. The popular local bakery, previously online-only, has opened a physical store along Arab Street.

Paparch began six years ago, gaining online fame for its artisanal burnt cheesecakes during the COVID-19 circuit breaker. The home-based business quickly became a social media sensation and now boasts over 60K Instagram followers.
The homegrown brand is known for its aesthetic cheesecake squares, available in five flavours at the store.
Flavours rotate regularly, with the Original ($8.80) remaining a permanent fixture on the menu. Flavoured cheesecakes go for $9.80 each.
You can enjoy your cheesecake in air-conditioned comfort at the store, which has a small bench and a standing area for dine-in customers.
Paparch’s burnt cheesecakes feature a charred top and a rich, dense filling, with an almost molten centre that oozes out when sliced. The plain flavour was perfectly creamy and indulgent, but not too sweet.

A riff on the traditional Nyonya kueh, this dessert packs intense pandan and gula melaka flavours that complement the cheesecake batter. It also features a gula melaka lava core that flows out as soon as you cut into the centre.
If you enjoy sweet-and-savoury combos, the Miso Caramel is a must-try. The deep umami of the miso balances the sweet caramel and creamy cheesecake, cutting through the dessert’s richness perfectly.
The Pistachio Berries cheesecake was a personal favourite, featuring a nutty pistachio-flavoured cheesecake with a sweet and tangy berry compote at its centre.
Lastly, we tried the Chocolate Praline, arguably the sweetest flavour of the bunch.
This chocolate cheesecake features a crunchy praline base, evoking the flavours of Kinder Bueno and Ferrero Rocher.
Besides the cheesecake squares, Paparch also offers Original whole cakes, with a seven-inch round priced at $51.50.
