Semolina bread is a dense and heavy bread, great with soups, stews, and anything you can think of to dip this great bread in any savory comfort foods.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups semolina flour
  • 2 3/4 teaspoons dry active yeast
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 5/8 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons salt

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in the warm water at around 109 degrees.
  2. Using a dough hook, add the flour, sugar, olive oil, and salt to a large mixing bowl. Beat until combined.
  3. Cut the dough into 3 pieces.
  4. Dump the dough into 3 round, greased deep cake pans or place on a pizza stone sprinkled with cornmeal.
  5. Rise around 3 hours.
  6. Bake at 400 degrees until nicely browned, around 55 minutes.
