- 3 cups blackberries
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter cold and cubed
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- Heavy cream for brushing tops
- Coarse sugar for sprinkling
Whipped cream
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
Instructions

In medium bowl, mix blackberries with sugar and lemon juice. Stir gently, then let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes until juicy.

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.

In large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Cut in cold butter with pastry cutter or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
