Apple milkshake is a creamy drink with apple, milk as main ingredients. I have shared two ways – with and without ice cream (vegan version) in this post.
You can make anytime, especially in summer for a refreshing and warm days to keep you hydrated. Perfect as a part of kid’s breakfast too.

I had this in drafts for long time now,I immediately tried after seeing in Instagram and wondered why I had not tried this before or tasted in restaurants. I wanted to try vegan version of the milkshake too before posting and it took this long for me! Better never than be late,haha. Here you go,do give it a try for yourself or your kids.
Ingredients
Here are the ingredients to make vegan apple milkshake.
Method 1
- Apple–Choose sweet,not so tart variety.
- Milk–Whole milk works best for rich and tasty results. Use boiled,chilli.
- Ice cream–Optional,but gives a good thick,rich taste and texture.
- Sugar–If needed,use for sweetening.
- Cinnamon–A must for perfect flavour. Goes well,with apple’s flavour.
Method 2
- Apple –Choose sweet,not so tart variety.
- Vegan milk –I used oat milk,you can use any vegan milk.
- Almonds –For binding and thick result.
- Cashews –Adds rich taste.
- Cinnamon –For flavour
- Dates –Healthy as well as sweetens.
- Sugar –Optional as sweetening agent. You can use agave or maple syrup.

- Peel the apples firstly and chop them roughly.
- After that,place apple,ice cream in blender. and add milk to it. Use boiled,cooled,chilled milk to avoid curdling.
- If you want you can add sugar to sweeten further.
- Blend well and serve apple milkshake immediately. Apple will oxidise soon and the colour would be dull if you don’t serve as soon as you blend.
Vegan Apple Milkshake
Now let’s see how to make apple milkshake without ice cream. This version is best for kids as it has nuts and dates,best for weight gain.
- Firstly,take peeled apples,pitted dates,soaked and peeled almonds,cashews,sugar in a blender.
- After that,add chilled oat milk to it.
- Blend everything together really well.
- Immediately serve it cold.
Serve with your breakfast toast or even as evening back from school refreshing drink.
Substitutions &Variations
- Milk –Use milk of your choice. Almond milk works too.
- You can skip ice cream or sugar if you want to make it healthier.
- Instead of cinnamon you can also use cardamom.
- Using a dash of nutmeg also really enhances the taste and it smells like an apple pie.
- Use a tablespoon of rolled oats or nut butter for filling and nutritious drink.
Storage
Serve Immediately,never store or wait to serve apple milkshake as apple in the milkshake oxidises and taste also changes.
Top Tip
To avoid curdling,it is always a best idea to use boiled,chilled milk. Never use raw milk. Use something to bind like nuts or even ice cream.
Use sweet variety apples like Fuji,Ambrosia,Honeycrisp or Gala.
Always taste before blending,use sweet ones.
FAQ
Apple milkshake is tricky,it may very slightly curdle (though not split or spoilt literally) if you use raw milk and tart apples. So make sure to use boiled,cooled,chilled milk. Taste the apple before you use. Use the sweet ones. Serve immediately to avoid oxidation.
Never use raw milk for making apple milkshake as the acid in apples and raw milk does not go very well together. It may curdle and give you weird taste.
Consume immediately as you prepare. This is a 2 minutes affair,not the one you can batch process and store.
