1. RISE Restaurant (Marina Bay Sands)
Have you ever wanted to savour the world in a single location? At RISE Restaurant in Marina Bay Sands, you can indulge in a range of delicious dishes from all around Southeast Asia and the rest of the world. The restaurant’s open design, paired with the high windows of the lobby of Marina Bay Sands, makes for a tranquil and relaxing dining experience.

The spread here ranges from a large selection of sustainably sourced seafood on ice, D.I.Y. salad bars, Asian and local delights, and assorted roasted meats plus local desserts. Talk about being spoiled for choice – there’s so much available, it’s hard to know where to start! (We recommend beginning with the seafood, especially the Atlantic Snow Crab.)
Highlights include the Laksa, which is one of their signature dishes, freshly cooked on order. Each bowl can be customised to your preference – you can choose which toppings you want, or if you want more or less or none of something. Remember to add a dollop of sambal and laksa leaf to this bowl of coconutty goodness for the best experience.
Thinking of pasta? There’s Spaghetti Carbonara, made right before your eyes and tossed in a huge Parmesan wheel. Beef lovers shouldn’t miss out on the Australian Wagyu Beef Cheek Rendang. Also, leave some room for Slow-cooked Iberico Pork Ribs, which are tender and seasoned just right to bring out the pork’s natural goodness.
The dessert section is also equally robust, with a wide range of local favourites like mini kueh dadar and ang ku kueh, fresh fruit, pastries and pralines, and an ice-cream station.

3. CLOVE (Swissôtel The Stamford Singapore)

Cool, airy and bathed in natural light. I’m not talking about the Alps but CLOVE at Swissôtel The Stamford, which leans exquisitely into its Swiss heritage. The gentle pitter-patter on the towering glass roof certainly added to the alpine impressions when we visited.
CLOVE’s unique Swiss-inspired international spread surprised us with its flavour, variety and creativity. Why were the mint leaves especially minty and how was the fish so delightfully fresh? It’s all magic from the hotel’s on-site pesticide-free sustainable Aquaponics farm, where vegetables, herbs and even fish grow happily together.

Let me now gush about my favourite: the Swiss Raclette. Unfortunately rare on the local buffet scene, the gooey, steaming raclette is scraped right from the cheese wheel onto your plate in all its melted glory. It pairs perfectly with potatoes as well as chicken and pork sausages, but I could (and did!) eat it with everything.

Another of my favourites, Rosti is luckily far easier to find in Singapore; CLOVE’s version is a must-try for its impeccable balance of a crispy outside and tender heart.
No surprises that the mountains of fresh crab, lobster and prawn on ice were very popular with the crowd. I gravitated towards the Roasted Barramundi at the carving station and was duly rewarded with succulent flaky meat, elevated by the garden-fresh herbs from the Aquaponics farm.
I couldn’t help but be drawn to another carving station featuring a magnificent Roasted Whole Turkey. It stood as a grand centrepiece of the buffet, seasoned with aromatic herbs that filled the air with a nostalgic holiday scent.
What a chef I am — the CLOVE laksa station lets you dip your ingredients into the boiling water yourself. I’m pretty sure it was the best laksa I have ever made.
Don’t forget to sample the Raspberry Focaccia, a delightful twist on the classic Italian bread for a bright, fruity contrast to the savoury carvings. It’s visually stunning, too.

No visit to CLOVE is complete without exploring the dessert island. The Swiss Chocolate Cake is a decadent dream, but the variety extends to artisanal pastries and pralines that change with the seasons. If you visit during the weekend, you will be treated to an even more indulgent chocolate extravaganza. You can also bring the indulgence home! The Swiss Chocolate Cake is available for takeaway for S$18++ (350g). Just be sure to place your order 24 hours in advance.
Indulge in CLOVE’s lunch buffet from Mon to Sat at S$78++ per adult. Step inside for a dinner buffet from Mon to Thu at S$98++. Children aged 6 to 12 get 50% off the adult pricing.
