What’s in This Easy Tuscan Chicken Recipe?

  • Oregano: Adds classic Italian flavor to this dish.
  • Butter: Adds richness and creaminess.
  • Chicken Broth: Adds moisture and savory flavor to the dish.
  • Flour: All-purpose flour helps thicken the sauce.
  • Onion + Garlic: Enhance the savory flavor of this dish.
  • Spinach: Adds a sweet and earthy flavor to the dish.
  • Cherry Tomatoes: Add freshness and acidity.
  • Lemon Juice: Enhances the freshness of the dish.
  • Heavy Cream: Makes the sauce rich and creamy.
  • Parmesan Cheese: Adds salty and umami flavor to the dish.

Note: This recipe is one of those few exceptions on our site that has more than 10 ingredients. We try to keep things VERY easy around here, and limiting ingredients and time spent is one of our favorite ways. That being said, this recipe is too delicious to leave out of our recipe box! It’s an exception that is so flavorful and worth the extra ingredients if you have the time and resources to make it.

How to Store and Reheat

Store leftover easy Tuscan chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months. Let thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating on the stovetop or in the microwave in 30-second increments until warmed through.

Notes and Tips

  • Be sure to whisk your flour continuously to keep your sauce thick.
  • Adding lemon juice with the spinach not only enhances the flavor, but it also helps your body absorb the iron in the spinach.
  • Use juice from a fresh lemon instead of using lemon juice from a bottle.
  • You can serve this dish over white rice or different types of pasta, such as spaghetti or penne.

“We loved this recipe so much that it will be part of our monthly repertoire!!! I cut the chicken breasts into chunks to cook faster and make it easier to eat. It is easy to make and extremely tasty. I served it over rice but next time will try pasta.” -Susan
