Clementi is a vibrant estate packed with an array of food gems. From the famous fried chicken and waffles at Waffle Town to $1 bubble tea and cosy HDB cafes, this neighbourhood has got it all. So, when one of my foodie friends raved about a hidden spot in the area—MEET Noodles—I knew I had to check it out for myself.

Food at MEET Noodles

Aside from their classic Chinese dishes, MEET Noodles offers customised noodles —you can choose from six different types of noodles, each varying in thickness, allowing you to tailor your meal to your exact preference!

We started with the lightest item out of everything that we ordered: the Braised Beef Noodle, or hong shao niu rou mian. The noodles here were soft—but not mushy—and smooth.

For me, the most important thing in any la mian dish is the noodles. The moment I picked the noodles up with my chopsticks and lifted them past the height of my head without breaking any strand, I knew these were legit hand-pulled.

This particular bowl of Braised Beef Noodles was on the lighter side; the broth was light brown, and relatively less oily than other braised beef noodles you’d usually see. It was flavourful nonetheless.

As for the beef pieces, they came in large chunks and were so tender to bite on. The fat instantly melted in my mouth!

We then moved on to the Sour Spicy Noodle, or suan la fen.

The rice noodles were incredibly soft and chewy—imagine Korean rice noodles, but better! The noodles absorbed the sour and spicy broth super well, while the soup had just the right amount of zest and spice. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The beef was thinly sliced, soaking up the broth wonderfully. It was tender and chewy, with the beef fat melting instantly in my mouth, adding a rich, buttery texture to each bite.

The last noodle dish we tried was their Hot Chilli Oil Noodle ($5.80). As someone who loves my carbs and doughy share of things, I could not resist ordering this plate of chilli on carbs. This was how it looked before mixing, and…

… this was how it looked like after some mixing!

Though the colour of the chilli oil made the noodles look fiery and unforgiving to the tastebuds, the spice was actually very manageable. It was actually more on the savoury side. In fact, I thought it would have been better if the noodles were layered with more spices or sauces for a more well-rounded taste.

The noodles, sliced thinner than usual, were smooth and had a pleasantly chewy texture. Although I typically prefer my noodles al dente, I found these slightly firmer than expected, while still being chewier than the standard chilli oil noodles you’d find elsewhere.

We ended our meal with Chinese Burger (Beef) ($5.90), also known as rougamo or rou jia mo, which was another highlight for me. The burger bun was so crispy and flaky, exactly like the texture of a good prata, but not overly oily at the same time. For those who prefer chicken, there’s also a chicken version available at the same price!

The burger was generously stuffed with steaming hot beef that was thick, juicy, and packed with flavour. Each bite was truly a delicious burst of savoury goodness.

If you’re a student, here’s some good news for you: MEET Noodles offers student meals that come with free drinks and sides, as long as you order a main! This is usually priced as a top-up of $2.50.

The sides rotate from time to time, though you’ll find classics such as stir-fried potato strips,  Chinese cold cucumber salad, and braised egg.

Located beside Clementi Mall, just three minutes by foot away from Clementi MRT Station, MEET Noodles sits right by the side entrance of the lesser-known Grantral Mall. It is a haven for Chinese la mian lovers, especially those who are also students.
