The creamy banana dip can be dairy free, gluten free, nut free, soy free, and vegan.

With a thick and fluffy texture, it tastes like a cross between classic banana pudding or cream pie and a slice of homemade banana cheesecake.

Banana Cheesecake Dip Ingredients

Banana pudding dip ingredients

Here is what you need: bananas, cream cheese or coconut cream, pure vanilla extract, and sweetener of choice.

You can use either block or whipped cream cheese, and vegan cream cheese works too.

Or substitute an equal amount of coconut cream or the thick part at the top of canned coconut milk for southern banana pudding dip with no cream cheese.

Most neutral all purpose types of liquid, granulated, or powdered sugar are fine to use, including pure maple syrup, coconut sugar, brown sugar, or erythritol or a monk fruit blend for a sugar free banana pudding dip.

Make sure to go with pure vanilla extract, because imitation vanilla flavor will impart an artificial aftertaste.

Add a half teaspoon of ground cinnamon for a cinnamon banana dip. Or throw in a pinch of cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper, and ginger to create a chai dip.

The best banana dip recipe tips

Make sure your bananas are ripe before beginning on the recipe. The banana peels should be partially or fully brown.

If you want to make the dip right away and can only find unripe bananas at the store, use the following trick to quickly ripen bananas.

How to ripen bananas in minutes: Place the unpeeled fruit on a parchment-lined baking sheet on the center rack of the oven. Then turn the heat to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, and bake 5-10 minutes until the peels turn black. Let cool before peeling.

To make the actual dip, simply blend everything in a blender or food processor until thick and smooth. Transfer to a serving bowl, and enjoy!

Store leftovers in a covered container in the refrigerator for three or four days.
