This umami-packed sauce from cookbook author and blogger Dan Churchill is great over steak, steamed or roasted vegetables, and even grilled tofu and rice. —Food52

    1 cup

  • 1 tablespoon

    miso paste

  • 1/3 cup


  • 1/3 cup

    tamari/soy sauce

  • 1/3 cup

    maple syrup

  • 1/2 cup


  1. In a small saucepan over low heat, whisk together all of the ingredients along with 1/2 cup water.
  2. Bring to a boil and allow to simmer until the mixture’s reduced by 1/3. Remove from heat.
